5 Supplements That Will Help You Get Through Law School
Your memory will have to be at its sharpest while having to endure long hours reading all the materials your professor will give you when in law school. This only means that your brain’s capacity and endurance will be stretched to its limits while you are in the study of law. While you will get used to it after a while, there are some readily available supplements which you can take to help you survive your new lifestyle. Here are some of them:
Multivitamins
The late nights and early mornings might compromise your health, so it is very important to keep your nutrients in check. While you might be limited to the food choices that are accessible from your dormitory or apartment, you can at least make sure that you get a healthy dose of essential nutrients when you take one multivitamin a day.
You are prone to getting sick while in law school, so you should see to it that you do not lack nutrients. You need a strong body to get through so make sure to always have multi vitamins at hand.
Caffeine
[su_quote cite=”Anonymous”]”Law school’s intent is not to teach you the law. We can look that up. Instead, law school teaches you how to teach yourself – one of the most valuable tools we will ever have.”[/su_quote]
It is very typical of a law student to smell like coffee all the time. It has even been said that law students might have more coffee in their systems than blood. Of course, you need to stay awake and nothing does the job better than coffee can.
However, coffee is not for everyone. People who suffer from GERD or other digestive problems might not respond well to it. If this is the case, you can take caffeine in pill form which can wake you up just as much as a few cups of coffee can.
Vitamin B Complex
Vitamin B complex has been widely considered as composed of key vitamins for brain health. When taken regularly, these have been shown to improve your mood, focus and memory and at the same time, you are guarded against a lot of illnesses.
B vitamins, especially B9 which is also known as folic acid, have been the subject of several studies for their powerful role in preventing cognitive decline and other more serious brain ailments such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. When you suffer from mental fatigue too easily or if you feel like your brain is clouded, this can actually be a sign that you are deficient from Vitamin B12.
Omega 3
Numerous studies have supported a direct link between Omega 3 and brain health. If you need some brain boost, this might just be the right supplement for you. The great thing about this is that this supplement is widely available in drugstores and if you opt for a natural form of ingesting it, you can simply up your intake of fatty fish such as salmon or trout.
Omega 3 has numerous benefits such as better memory, increased brain stamina and less brain fog which are all well documented. Omega 3 fats build brain cell membranes and this is what keeps your brain in top shape. With so many benefits in one dose, it is no wonder that this has become a favorite supplement amongst law students.
Ginkgo Biloba
Ginkgo Biloba has been used in ancient China to heal various ailments for thousands of years already. In a study from the University of Maryland, it has been said that ginkgo biloba happens to be the oldest species of tree on earth. Nowadays, it is widely used as the main ingredient in top selling supplements.
This plant has been studied for its effective anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and blood circulation boosting effects. This leads to improved cognitive function, more energy, a sharper memory, better mood and even improved conditions for certain conditions such as asthma and ADHD.
While these supplements can help you to some extent, there is still no substitute for hard work and dedication. Law school is no walk in the park, so you should expect some of the biggest grinds of your life to happen while studying law.
